Tabletop Water Fountains
Tabletop water
fountains are usually those fountains which have more than 11
inches in length and width. The tabletop versions could
and have been used for desks as well as on other similar surfaces.
They can be used inside or outside and can be an important
piece of decoration in your homes and offices. They can provide
bubbling and flowing water into the areas where we relax and work.
They bring back a natural feeling to rejuvenate and energize us.
Truly, tabletop fountains are
fantastic stress reducers and room beautifiers.
As a matter of fact, a lot of people already own a water
fountain in their homes or offices. And though you can readily buy
a tabletop water fountain, there are some people who prefer to
build their own so that they could specify the design and save
money at the same time.
To be able to create a tabletop water fountain, you would need
to visualize the water that flows in it and the bubbles, which are
formed in the wood and rocks and other materials that are used in
the fountain in a way, which would sound natural and would look
pleasing. Building your own tabletop water fountain may be as
simple as just putting some stones together along with a small pump
in a container that has with water. Your fountain does not to be
very fancy.
Here are the materials required:
1. A bowl or container
2. A small water pump, which pumps less than a hundred gallons
every hour.
3. Clear plastic tubing that has an inner dimension of ½ inch and
an outer dimension of 5/8 inch.
4. Some rocks, pebbles, crystals, slate, driftwood pieces,
semi-precious stones, shells and basically anything, which would be
able to take water.
5. Plants like ivy, bamboo and flowers for decoration.
6. Figurines.
Here are the required steps:
1. Position the water pump to be at the bottom of the bowl or
container, as you make sure that the cord is properly draped at the
back.
2. After putting the pump in place, you could then put water in
your container the make sure that the pump is properly working.
Pour tap water that would reach a height of a minimum of two
inches. Then plug the pump to the electrical outlet.
3. Cut the tubing to a length that would be able to fit the
design and container that you have. Fit it into the clear plastic
tubing that is on the pump spout. Get around 8 inches of the tubing
so that the water could be elevated.
4. Use the bigger rocks to fill the bottom and smaller ones to
accent the top.
5. Add the shells, plants and other accents to serve as the
design and theme of your water fountain.
